I hope you’re all having a good weekend. I’ve been very busy keeping an eye on the new portal, guiding its formation, and monitoring the stories that are hanging around. They get a kick out of staring at the portal and arguing about what world lies just beyond it. Several of them are quite hopeful that this could be the world for them. Interestingly, more and more stories have been bringing me reports of how when they walk through the area, the walks either take way too long or not long enough for the distance covered.
I’ve been noticing this, too. Each time I walk between my home and the portal, the walk takes a different amount of time. The portal’s reach is growing, but don’t worry. This is quite common during formation, and the portal will reign itself in once everything is settled. There is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happening here.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a quick update before I took some days off. I wish I could have taken this weekend off, but most portals don’t care what day of the week it is. Or what time of day it is, for that matter. A new portal can be like a new baby: Your attention is sometimes needed at three in the morning. However, because the portal has been very active this weekend, maybe it’ll get tired and I can take tomorrow off. I can treat Monday like the beginning of my weekend-

Now I really need a day off. But at least I truly know what type of portal I’m dealing with. I’m going to have a stern talk with it once it settles down.
