Can You Guess the Story?

This week’s post is simple: Here is a list of three things that are related to one of the stories hidden in the Keep. Can you figure out which story is the answer? This one should be easy to guess.

  1. Literature’s most eligible bachelor. You should be able to identify the story by this clue alone. Granted, there are a lot of books with eligible bachelors, and even more books with bachelors that I would not deem eligible at all, but this guy takes the cake. If you think there is a fictional bachelor out there who is more eligible than this guy, then I have to wonder if you’ve read this book at all.
  2. Sarcasm. We’re talking heavy doses of sarcasm. The pages are positively dripping with it. Every sentence has been steeped in it. If you sniff the book, I’m sure you’ll smell it even if you have no idea what sarcasm smells like. I’m surprised the author’s pen didn’t tear through the pages while writing all those barbed lines. This book should come with a warning label so readers are aware of the sheer amount of sarcasm they will be subjected to while reading it.
  3. A chaise and four. This might not seem like much, but if you’ve read the story, you’ll know that a chaise and four started the whole thing. I guess a carriage or a curricle could have done just as well (or not, for I’m not entirely sure how each of them works), but the author chose a chaise and four, and without that chaise and four, the story would not have begun. So it’s worth putting on this list.

You must have figured it out by now. If you have not, then you absolutely must enter the Keep, find it, and read it. The Keep will show you where you can find it in your world.

What’s that?

No, I’m not going to just tell you the answer! Enter the Keep and see if you’re right! Besides, this one is rather easy to guess. Even if you haven’t read the book, surely you must know what it is. And knowing what it is will tell you which world to find it in, and then it’s just a matter of guessing where in the world you think this particular story is hiding.

What? You say you still won’t be certain which story I’m referring to even if you find them all?

Oh, fine. Let’s compromise

The story referred to above is hidden in the country manor, and you’ll want to make your way to the manor’s library. Fair enough?

No, I’m not giving you directions to the library itself. You can figure that out on your own.

And now I hope when you find the story, you will smack your head when you realize how obvious the answer was and how you should have known all along. I also hope you have already read the book at least twice and are eager to seek it out in the Keep so you can find it in your world to read again.

For those of you who guessed correctly: Good job! Now go find it.
