There’s a new story in the castle! I was walking through the inner courtyard the other day when there was a fierce roaring coming from somewhere in the sky. Everyone froze. We all watched the sky, wondering what sort of beast was making that sound. A second roar followed, startling everyone into action. They began screaming and running around, trying to find places to hide.
However, I noticed that the roaring was actually coming from one of the towers, which was decidedly lacking in giant beasts. I entered through the library, the closest building to the tower in question, and made my way up. The roars echoed down the tower stairs, and when I burst through the door at the top, I found exactly what I thought I would: a story. The story in question was standing on the edge of the tower, roaring over the castle because it could.
“Now you stop that roaring right now. You’ve frightened the entire castle!” I admonished. The story turned around, surprised at being yelled at but seemingly unrepentant. It said that it liked both roaring and castles, and here was an opportunity for it to indulge itself.
It didn’t take long for us to come to an agreement. The story will stay at the top of the tower and has agreed to only roar at people who come looking for it. The story was thrilled with the location. It feels it has a certain right to be looking out over the rest of the castle, and I have to agree.
So, I have let the story get settled and have also calmed down the people of the castle. Once they got over their fright and annoyance, they were proud to have such a story residing with them. They said they would get used to the roaring.
Have you guessed what story it is? It’s something associated with castles, towers, and large animals that roar. There are many stories associated with these things, so let me give you an additional hint: winter. If you’re sure you know what the story is now, go find it to see if you were correct.
