I Found a Story Wandering Around the Mansion

A new story has been seen wandering around the mansion, which is quite unusual due to the, you know, creature lurking nearby. Very few stories are willing to brave it alone.

But this one was different. During one of my patrols through the place, I heard the creature roaring outside. This is a normal thing to hear in the mansion, but this roar sounded…frustrated. I looked out the window and saw it chasing something. This something was not very big, but it sure seemed to be having fun judging by the way it scampered about. I knew it was a story.

The story ran in circles around the creature, then went dashing off to hide behind a shrub. It peeked out and watched as the creature turned its head this way and that. After a few minutes, it dashed back out and repeated the process.

I marched outside and brought a halt to this nonsense. “That’s enough, both of you!” They froze at my words and I demanded to know what happened. It seems the story had been wandering around outside when it spotted the mansion. It was immediately attracted to the place and simply wanted to have a look around. Meanwhile, the creature, who doesn’t like it when someone has a look around, went to scare it away. The story took this for a game of who could be scarier, and you know the rest.

I scolded the creature for trying to frighten away a story, and I scolded the story for trying to frighten the creature. The creature went off to sulk, and I suggested that the story find a place to settle down inside.

Upon bringing it to the main hall, it took one look through the open door to the dining room and was suitably impressed with the ominous air. It started finding hiding places so it could jump out at people. It then scampered up to the windows and started making faces at the creature, who was glaring back, so I closed the curtains.

Don’t worry, I made sure everything was settled before I left. Just find the dining room, and it won’t be long before you find the story, too. And don’t open the curtains.
