World Storytelling Day

I understand that today is World Storytelling Day in your world, which is amazing! A day where your entire world dedicates itself to listening to and telling stories from all over is wonderful. The stories were ecstatic when I explained it to them, and they have been strutting around ever since. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: stories love being shared.

I told the stories that this holiday is especially focused on verbal storytelling, and they all gathered around a large rock, where they took turns standing on it to, well, tell their stories. The ones in the audience were amazingly quiet as they listened for hours. There was no bickering, digging up of my yard, or any other sort of chaos. This extended period of calmness is quite unusual. Having a large number of stories together and yet having everything quiet is something special. This is the power of stories. They bring people together.

There is more than one way to experience verbal stories, though. This may seem obvious, but audiobooks, podcasts, and songs are some great ways to listen to stories as well. If you need a specific recommendation, go to the Keep and explore any of the four worlds that are open right now. Each one has several hidden books, which, if you follow the links I provide when you find said books, you can see if there’s an audiobook version to listen to. If you would like a podcast, there are a few hidden in the space station and the mansion. There’s no music to find yet, but keep checking back!

What are you waiting for? It’s time to tell a story and listen to a story.
